At this very breathing moment, I am at the New York International Auto Show in, um, New York and let me tell you, this show is a blast.Today is the first public day and word must have gotten around or else their marketers are brilliant because there is quite a crowd here. In fact, this is the most crowded car show I have ever attended and some areas are wall-to-wall folks jostling to get a first peek at the 2010 models or sit in the new Kias (haha, just kidding about the Kias although their exhibit is great).
No, people are hovering more toward the new BMW X6M or oggling the Cadillac Converj concept. My personal favorites are the Volvo XC60 and Mercedes C-class AMG version! I've gotta tell you though, there is more fun to be had outside of the main halls in the auto accessories area. You will see the tackiest of tacky vendors selling everything from dog-shaped purses (seriously) to "space-age" cleaning cloths. There is one section, however, where you can see some American race cars and meet a few models dressed in their barest. That section is to the far left of the main entrance and I highly recommend it. Take a peek at some of my best pics from today and more will come soon:
